Best Mom Award!

Congratulations to Ben D. for winning the $100 Chaminade Gift Certificate for his mom, Susan.  There were so many great entries we basically had to just pick one from the hat, so to speak.  Here is Ben’s essay about his mom:

Rather than being a stay-at-home mom, she works day in and day out, 10 hour days, to keep me and my sisters happy and healthy.  She comes home every day exhausted, but with a smile, makes us dinner, helps us with our homework and then goes to bed, only to get up the next day and do it again.  With her mother in the hospital, she spends her weekends up taking care of her and my uncle.  She never once complains, falters, or shows anything but optimism, and when things look dark, she’s always got a smile.  If anyone deserves the award, it’s her.

We hope Susan enjoys a nice meal and some quiet time at Chaminade with her  certificate!

Erin:  She always helps me take care of me and my teeth

Rachel:  She can be VERY playful and make you laugh until you have a cramp.

Haley:  She is really supportive and has to put up with my brother and I when we fight.  She also brings me to dance, golf, friends house etc. and brings my brother to baseball, football, golf, friends houses, bike stores, etc.

Lauren:  She is always by my side, no matter what I do or how crazy I am, she always tells me she loves me.

Teresa:  She juggles multiple hygienist offices, washes the dishes, supports my brothers and me, loves us, is pursuing her wish to take fiddle lessons, turns pages for me sometimes on the piano . . .

Renae:  She deserves it so much because she is hardworking and fun and doesn’t know how grateful I am for her – I love her so much!

Madison:  She never does anything for herself, she stays home and takes care of us, and 2 of her grandchildren 12 hours a day.  Cooking, cleaning, laundry, and chauffering.  She is simply the best!

Caroline:  She is everything you could ever ask for in a mom and is the best influence of a woman figure.  Not only has she been a great mother but has fought through so many battles but stayed a strong woman and great mother.

Kristina:  She is a hilarious, hardworking, friendly, wholehearted, talented, sweet, kind, BEAUTIFUL mother; inside and out. . .

Helen:  It is good to have someone there who has gone through what you have, and even more so because you have so much in common.  At my age (12) things seem different.  People cannot get you.  You’re hungry, you’re not, you’re tired, you’re not . . . she will always understand me!

Lena:  She helps me with my home work and she hugs me every day, and she feeds me all the time and sho knows how much she spends on that?  . . .Every day and night she says she loves me!

Julia:  My mom is the most caring and self-giving person. . .  She does everything for our family always with a smile on her face!

Jessica:  She is the coolest mom ever.   . . . She even takes me to see Dr. Joiner so that my teeth will be perfectly perfect!!!

Hannah:  My mom is awesome and takes me everywhere.  She cooks me dinner every night and she always invites my friends for dinner.

Ellia:  She always is nice to my friends, my dog and me.  Also, she takes me shopping and gives me ice cream a lot!

Amy:  She is just an all-around amazing, wonderful, loving human being, who deserves to be recognized for her loving personality.

Kellie:  She always puts others before herself and she also helps people that are needy.  My mom teaches me and my sister to live the same way.  I love my mom’s heart and I hope that I grow up to be like her.

Xander:  She has given us so many opportunities to become well-rounded people and supported us in every one.  We are not easy people to deal with, but she has always loved and supported us no matter what.

Elizabeth:  She’s on my side even when I’m wrong.  She is my shoulder to cry on, she is my mom.  Her strength is making me stronger.

Olivia:  She didn’t kill me when I broke my retainer . . .

James:  She has always been there for me, and helped through the hard times of having braces!

Connor:  She is very nice and always helps me with anything I need.

Evan:  She is ultimately punctual, besides being pretty amazing!

Julianna:  She is a great mom, makes really good food, and she buys lots of awesome clothes!

Alex:  She makes really good tacos!

Janet:  She’s 85 and still kickin’!!

Dean:  She is a kind and loving person.  She also sacrifices so much just for our family.

Ashley:  She is always making other people’s lives easier. . .

Zach:  She is loving, caring, kind, buys me nice things, understanding, helpful, compassionate, nice, awesome, patient.  She puts up with my annoyingness, and she is always on time!

Erin:  Even though my brother and I are in High School, she still will make our lunch for us, and she cooks delicious food for dinner . . . she never judges us or makes fun of us.

Kacey:  She’s the best mom in the world!

Joey:  She always works hard.  Always helping other people.  Taking care of 4 kids, paying bills all the time, making food for 6 people, stays up til midnight, very nice all the time.  PLEASE PICK HER!
